HCG Diet
Well I thought it was not really easy or possible to lose much weight on hrt. I was wrong, you can lose weight on hormones. I have to let you know though I would never recommend the HCG diet for anyone. The basics of the diet are the HCG hormone which is supposed to cause to you burn fat from storage. Then you are supposed to eat 500 calories a day. You are restricted to eating mostly vegetables low or no salt then small amounts of meat. I tried it but then broke off the diet here and there all over the place. I mostly cheated and I don’t really feel guilty at all. For one I did not have 22% body fat which is the only reason you are supposed to go on the diet. I also went to Seattle so, yeah the diet was ruined. I mostly wanted to warn people though. The HCG diet has some very big risks. The biggest is that the HCG you can get which is homeopathic does not contain any real HCG. Also 500 calories is when your body reaches starvation mode which can cause all kinds of issues. I went on the diet mostly for personal reasons. It was time for me to say no to myself in so many ways. I was over consuming and over drinking. So part of prior to new years I told myself no more. I quit drinking and thought this would be a good way to put my food consumption back in check. I have to admit that for that reason the diet works but I have a better idea.
HCG does work on homeopathic drops but honestly I felt dizzy, and sluggish at times. I have to say there are better options. Really if you want to lose weight and feel great think about eating just fruits and vegetables. It’s amazing how much better you will feel, how much energy you will have. If that seems like a big much just try cutting out all refined sugar and high fructose corn syrups. Every little change can really help in the long run a lot. Then add to it, once you no longer are craving sweets throw in less meet and more fruits. You can always take little steps to live a more healthy life. Extreme changes can dump all those toxins from your fat storage right into your body too quickly. So take your time and eat healthy. Remember the best diets are not diets they are life changes to daily habits.

Hi, I have one question I hope you can help me. I was born a woman but I have the body of a man, meaning I have a very masculine body even though I am not one. This has caused me a lot of distress and frustration trhorought my life since I have always felt inferior to other women with hips and butts, the way a womanly body should be. I dont know what to do, I am desperate and HRT sounds like a better option than plastic surgery since hip implants are not even something common or safe for what Ive read and I am scared of going under the knife. So my question is: Do you think taking HRT would help me gain a more feminine look? Please dont disregard my question, some of the comments Ive read have given me hope.
Thank you.

There are quite a few women with your exact same problem. I would talk to a doctor and get your levels checked. There are quite a few women out there that have something called polycystic ovary syndrome. You can read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polycystic_ovary_syndrome. Of course there are other issues that could be the cause of your problem. Its difficult to say if HRT would be beneficial or not in these cases, and with some it might create a worse issue. One thing you can do right now though is to build muscle. I know that sounds odd but if you have a more masculine body you can use that to your advantage in many ways. I used to lift weights and can tell you that getting on squats will build up quite the hips. Of course that works only for the back of the hips but there are so many exercises that can and do help. I know of a few and am on some mailing lists for one site just about this. I know side lunges work, as well as walking side step on a treadmill. Being a skier and doing things like biking help a ton as well. Anything that builds muscle on the legs will work in your advantage. I hate to endorse a website looking for money but here is the link to a person who shows you some exercises as well: http://www.fitstep.com/bigger-butt/course/6-glute-deadlifts.htm. He is trying to sell a book for this very thing, and trust me you can find this information anywhere for free. Another site you might try is pintrest.com, just look under health. They have tons of tips on there for this,so you can’t be the only one looking. Best of luck to you and I would never do hip implants or free form silicone. It looks great, but is temporary with huge risk.

Thank you very much for taking the time to help me. I will talk to an endocrinologist about this and try to work on building muscle. One question though: how could taking hrt could worsen my problem?
Also, I want to add that I really like your blog, it is very kind of you to share your experience and knowledge with others in order to make it easier for them than what it was for you. I am glad you kept it and that I came across with it. Best of luck to you too, I will see you around here!

The reason is this, if you have PCOS then its not that your body is lacking estrogen. The problem is more related to the receptors, SHBG binding. Then you would be adding more estrogen to a body already producing more than enough estrogen and not utilizing it. You would end up with a bunch of extra estrogen that will not bind to anything. This kind of issue can cause cancer and other sorts of things. So it would not be my recommendation at all. This is also the reason you should talk with a doctor, it could also be that your not producing enough estrogen. You can also get tested here for cheaper than a doctor visit if needed: privatemdlabs.com. Even being transsexual myself I am not consistently on estrogen. I like to cycle it much like weightlifters and testosterone. The key is to give your body the right things when it can accept it. This is part of the reason I won’t touch coagulated estrogen and not so sure about patches. If you are leaning toward taking something then maybe try a herb, like grow bust or something of that sort. We really do take a huge risk taking estrogen as trans women.
Thank you for your compliment. I am glad I can help someone out there.
