I know usually I give an update on my progress and events but with all the political things going on I thought I would drop my two cents on the debate.  I am not going to get political but just thought I would express some of my own thoughts on the subject.

I was raised Christian and in a Republican household.  When I told my mother once I didn’t vote she was upset and I told her I didn’t know about all the issues.  I didn’t vote on them because I didn’t have a full understanding of both sides on a lot of the issues.  She was very upset and told me that I should vote Republican no matter what.  That was it end of discussion and I thought it was a very poor discussion.  I also found that the more educated I became the harder the choice became.

I can’t vote Republican and I can’t see voting Democratic either.  That might seem like an odd statement but when it comes down to it either candidate just does’t seem like a good choice.  Its more like a choice of the lesser of two evils.  We are to choose the one we agree with most…   I told someone else if you really want to make a difference its not a vote that counts, but lobbying for the things you want most to pass.   Now if you live in a mostly Democratic state and vote Republican or vise verse then yes you can make a difference…  so don’t get my statements wrong I am not saying don’t go vote.  I just find it ironic the best thing I have heard has come not from the Republicans or Democrats but Paris Hilton:

That really scares me when someone like Paris Hilton can put together something more thought than either canidate.  Its not just the subject of off shore drilling, but every issue on the board is about the same way.  Its not that either one really thinks through the issues.  Its almost like we live in a world where its all black or all white and neither end will bend and negotiate for the greater good of the people.  Its scares me that poor decisions are made by those in charge every day.  Its just like this 700 billion dollar bail out…  You know we the people would be better off splitting the money amongst ourselves than giving it to corporate america.   If you want to hand out money I can give you my address and I know what to do with it ;-) .  Of course a hand out to everyone would be an inflation nightmare.   The bill never passed, but now they are bailing out companies anyways without a bill.  The problem is they bailed out these companies where the vp’s where getting there heafty 6, 7 figure incomes and still on the pay roll when the company tanked and are still on the pay roll now.  Who makes these decision really?  I should stop my rant but this the craziness that caused this whole mess in the first place.  Now we are just financing more and from the government.  Who really thinks this is a good idea?

I told my mother this day was coming about 4 years ago.  It was very obvious to me what was going to happen with crazy home loan programs, credit cards and gas prices rising this was going to happen.  Anyone could see it but we were going to finance our way out of depression.  This was a plan put together and we all took loans to float the economy to a new high level.  The problem is that we could not sustain the loans and now we are heading for worse times than after 9/11.  Anyone who saw this up front could have realized the big picture could have said something, but no one was going to say hey this is a bad idea because everyone got rich at the top.  I just thought it was even worse when the signs of this where showing everyone on the new said the houseing market is not going to cause a crash.  They where right its the combination of everything that really brought the market down.  To get back to my point do you think we can point the finger to one Republican or one Democrat that did this?  It was everyones fault and yet since the president is Republican we will vote Democratic next time.  We will all feel better about our decision, democracy will live on in the hearts of people and yet who knows what kind ride we are in for next…  I am just really scared that America might not be ready for a black president and he might get assasinated.  Then at that point I don’t know what would bring us out of a huge depression.
